Author Biography

Martin Walters is a writer, editor, and naturalist based in Cambridge, England. He studied zoology at Oxford and has had a lifelong interest in birds, botany, natural history, and conservation. He makes regular visits to China and has become fascinated by its natural history. Working with local biologists there, he has access to the latest information on China's biodiversity and nature reserves and will be co-leader of a nature tour to China in 2006.
 
Stephen Mansfield is a photographer and writer living in Japan. He travels widely throughout Southern Asia and has specialist knowledge of ethnic minorities. His guide to the Philippines is also published by Bradt.
