Summary

All that remains of the column of Antoninus Pius is the decorated pedestal, four fragments of the pedestal reliefs, and the bottom of the red granite shaft. These have been impressively installed in the apse of the Cortile della Pigna in the Vatican behind a colossal figured capital, the enormous bronze pine cone known as the pigna, and two bronze peacocks.
