Summary

Systematically revised and updated throughout, this groundbreaking text provides a uniquely up-to-date overview of all the major approaches to European integration. Introducing students to the most current debates, European Integration Theory, Second Edition, features carefully edited contributions from international experts. Each author reflects on the development, achievements, and problems of his or her approach and discusses historical and current issues of European integration. The concluding chapter comparatively assesses the strengths and weaknesses of each approach and looks at the emerging issues. The second edition features two new chapters: one on the political theory of European integration and another on critical theory.
