Rachel Lynette is the author of over 60 nonfiction books for children as well as several teacher resource books. She has a background in elementary education. Kenneth Dunton is a professor specializing in marine foods webs. He is director of a program for science teachers and students to learn more about biology, environmental science, aquatic science, geology, and oceanography. Dana Sjostrom is a research associate who has studied creatures such as caterpillars and butterflies. She taught science and developed science curriculum for students and training for science teachers.
