Summary

A perfect 'First Day of School' book, The Strange House offers a glimpse into a bizarre, unconventional school with a surprising principal. With colourful illustrations of jumping pencils, hungry desks and creatures in the gymnasium, this story is funny, engaging and leaves its readers wanting more. Terrific for emergent readers, the story's rhyming format will help children build phonemic awareness. If you're looking for a book that will spark a child's imagination, look no further!

Author Biography

Katherine Hilts is an emerging writer from Nogojiwanong / Peterborough, Ontario. From a young age she began creating stories in her head and imagining quirky characters from other worlds. She loves travelling, learning new languages and finding beauty in the ordinary. When she's not writing, she can be found hiking trails, chasing her two children, or composing at the piano.Gabe Kong is an Illustrator and Storyboard Artist who has had a passion for drawing since he was a boy growing up in the suburbs of Mississauga, Ontario. Gabe has crafted a unique and expressive style that he hopes reflect some of his personality. When he's not drawing eight-legged houses, you can find him playing guitar with various bands around Toronto, Ontario.
