Police report that the evening's heavy rain may have contributed to hazardous road conditions throughout the area. There are no suspects at this time, but the police are continuing their investigation. Witnesses state that a dark-colored car skidded near Mr. Werner as he walked on the shoulder of the road, hid him, stopped momentarily, and then drove off.
