Author Biography

Pieter Van Dijk was judge at the European Court of Human Rights. In 2006, he was President of the administrative litigation section of the Council of State, a post he resigned in 2013 at the age of 70.He is currently Vice President of the Constitutional Court of Sint Maarten.Arjen van Rijn is Lawyer and Professor Constitutional and administrative law at the University of the Netherlands Antilles, CuraƧao. He represents the interests of his clients, advises, litigates and practises law. His work area is that of constitutional and administrative law. Arjen van Rijn has been journalist in previous years. Leo Zwaak, LL.M (1975), senior lecturer in the field of International Protection of Human Rights at Utrecht University, senior researcher at the Netherlands Institute of Human Rights, visiting professor at the Washington College of Law, American University, and visiting professor at the University of Malta. He has published extensively on issues such as the application and interpretation of the European Convention on Human Rights and the effectiveness of the supervisory mechanism.
