Author Biography

Russell Rhoads, CFA has had a diverse career in trading and financial analysis that has spanned almost twenty years. In 2009 he retired from trading to become a full time course writer and instructor for the Options Institute at the Chicago Board Options Exchange. He also is a certified instructor for the Options Industry Council teaching courses on behalf of this organization. He conducts about 90 classes yearly and in addition conducts webinars on behalf of the CBOE and brokerage firms such as E-Trade, Charles Schwab and OptionsExpress. Previously, he worked at Peak Trading Group as a commodity trading advisor. In addition he has contributed to publications including Technical Analysis of Stocks and Commodities magazine, Active Trader magazine, and The Street.com. Finally, he is the author of three books, Candlestick Charting for Dummies (2008), Options Spread Trading (2011) and Trading VIX Derivatives (2011). Mr. Rhoads has a MS in Finance from the University of Memphis and a Masters Certificate in Financial Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
